Dissolution of struvite requires nutritional management for 5 to 12 weeks. To prevent recurrence of urolithiasis, nutritional management should be  continued for at least 6 months. The cat can be maintained on Urinary Feline.

 
·Dissolution of struvite uroliths.
·Prevention of recurrence of struvite uroliths.
·Prevention of recurrence of calcium oxalate uroliths.
In the old cat, it is recommended that renal function is checked prior to prescribing Urinary Feline.
NB: in cases of recurrent idiopathic cystitis, Urinary Feline pouch or alutray is recommended.
