Company Background

Royal Canin was born in 1967 on the edge of the Camargues, in a little village in the Gard, perched on one of the lowest foothills of the Cévennes. The Mediterranean ripples on the horizon. 

At its head in the early years was Jean Cathary, a country vet who first turned his hand to something completely new four years earlier, when he began manufacturing dry food for cats dogs.  
  
Since then, the story of Royal Canin has been one of lightning acceleration.
